Local youth are supporting young people with autism spectrum disorder in York Region with a donation of $660 to Kerry's Place.
At the 10th meeting of 100 Youth Who Care - Central York Region Feb. 20, the growing group presented the funds they raised in one hour with individual donations of $10, which were then matched by sponsors Kristina Clement, Laurie Brakeboer and Susan Cooper.
The group, with members from Newmarket, Aurora and East Gwillimbury, selected Kerry's Place as a recipient at its last meeting of 2018 in November.
Kerry's Place, with a location in Aurora, is Canada’s largest service provider to families with children, adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorder.
Shine Through the Rain, an organization that supports families through life-threatening illnesses, has been selected as the next recipient. The donation of $860 will be presented at the next quarterly meeting.
100 Youth Who Care - CYR continues to welcome others young people to join them in having a positive impact on the lives of underserved youth in Newmarket, Aurora and East Gwillimbury.
