York Region Transit service changes come into effect Sunday

York Region Transit (YRT) service changes are taking effect this Sunday.

Schedule and route changes are being made to meet changing customer demand, according to a YRT news release.

YRT service changes effective April 28:

  • Route 8 Kennedy extended for new service along Steeles Avenue between Old Kennedy Road and Kennedy Road in Markham
  • Route 10 Woodbridge (new) will operate during weekday rush hours along Woodbridge Avenue, Langstaff Road and Portage Parkway between Kipling Avenue and SmartVMC Bus Terminal in Vaughan
  • On-Request Gormley (new) will operate during weekday rush hours in the community of Gormley in Whitchurch-Stouffville; customers can request a ride from their home to Richmond Green Public Library, Honda Boulevard or Gormley GO Station
