YORK HARMONY CHORUS
*************************
The York Harmony Chorus (YHC) recently performed at the 76th Sweet Adelines International competition among 32 regional winning choruses from around the world.

This was their first time performing with the larger choruses who have had a varied international exposure often placing in the top 10.

Under the direction of master director Martha DeClerq (also her first time directing in this category), York Harmony placed an amazing 28th place (32 competitors, all regional winners of 600 internationally wide choruses).

YHC members and fans were extremely proud. The thousands of fellow singers in the audience were wonderfully supportive in their enthusiasm.

You are now familiar with a Region 16 AA division multiple-medal-winning women’s chorus within the Sweet Adelines organization with also a 2022 fourth-place International Harmony Classics (mid-size chorus contest) medal to their credit.

Why not check them out at any Tuesday evening rehearsal from 7 to 10 p.m. at Sharon Hope United Church in Sharon, where you will see smiling joyful faces and hear harmonious ringing chords as they master the four-part barbershop harmony unique to their craft?

Check them out at yorkharmonychorus.ca.

On a recent 105.9 The Region interview with Khaliza Bacchus of The Feed program, our director, Martha DeClerq, explains in more detail about this female vocal ensemble, their commitment to musical/personal growth, and their love to perform throughout our community:
