York Cinemania is kicking off for the season with Ghostlight at SilverCity Cinemas Newmarket on Jan. 22.
Presented by Newmarket Public Library and East Gwillimbury Public Library, York Cinemania brings independent and award-winning TIFF films to audiences in northern York Region showing at SilverCity Cinemas Newmarket.
January’s Film is Ghostlight (2024) at 7 p.m. at 18195 Yonge St, East Gwillimbury: When Dan finds himself drifting from his wife and daughter after his son’s suicide, he discovers community and purpose in a local theatre’s production of Romeo and Juliet. Unwilling to confront his grief at home, he begins to confront his loss through the play. Funny and heartwarming, Ghostlight is an exploration of how we feel love and loss through art.
Tickets are $15 each, and can be purchased online or at the door. Proceeds support the libraries.
