Board Gaming at Cardinal Press: Every other Friday, enjoy a night of board gaming at Cardinal Press Espresso on Main Street. Games are provided and teachers will be on hand to help explain everything. You can also bring your own games to share. Organizers note, however, that they don't tend to play traditional games like Monopoly or Clue. The next board game night is Feb. 17 from 6 to 10 p.m. You can RSVP online.
Saturday, Feb. 18
Winterfest: The Town of Newmarket's Winterfest is on Feb. 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex. There will be fun activities for the whole family, including a ferris wheel, snowtube slide, and dance party. Central York Fire Services and York Regional Police are taking part as well as the Newmarket Minor Hockey Association and Newmarket Car Club. There will be live entertainment from Bernadette Corners and a live DJ, a clown, a fire performer, and roaming costumed characters. A number of food options are available for purchase.
York Symphony Orchestra: YSO presents An Evening at the Opera at Trinity Anglican Church, Aurora at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30,$25, $20 at door online at YSO website.
Sunday, Feb. 19
Group Ride: Newmarket Cycles is taking off on a group ride from 2 to 3 p.m. on Feb. 19. These rides are a chance for community members to explore Newmarket by bike, moving at a family-friendly leisurely pace. They are free and start and end at 621 Timothy St. Riders are reminded to dress for the weather and make sure to protect your hands, feet, and ears.
Monday, Feb. 20
Family Day: The Town of Newmarket is holding drop-in activities for Family Day on Feb. 20. Activities include swimming, skating and skateboarding. Drop-in sports like badminton, basketball and pickleball will also be on offer.

The Newmarket Voice Festival: The Newmarket Voice Festival will celebrate its 25th anniversary Feb. 21 to 25, with Concert of the Stars, Friday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Town Hall. Categories are musical theatre, pop, classical and speech arts for performers of all ages. Professional adjudicators provide written and verbal feedback to each participant.
