Aurora Bridge Club: Play duplicate bridge weekly with the Aurora club at the Newmarket Veterans Association, 406 Millard Ave., from 12:15 to 4 p.m., open games Wednesdays and Fridays, Thursday 0-500. Price $6 to $10.

Saturday, March 22

The Menopause Blueprint: Certified menopause coach Michelle Reeve hosts the The Menopause Blueprint with speakers Dr. Tamarah Chaddah, Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Dolores Fernandez, Naturopathic Doctor, Renée Lindo, personal stylist; and Lisa Neilly, certified pilates instructor at Postmark Hotel, Main Street, Newmarket from 9 a.m. to 1  p.m. Women aged 35+ will learn and get answers about peri menopause to post menopause. Danny Michel: Aurora Cultural Centre presents indie folk artist Danny Michel, supported by Drew Gonsalves, at Davide De Simone Performance Hall, Aurora Town Square, 50 Victoria St., at 7:30 p.m.Tickets $40.

York Chamber Ensemble presents French Connection: Saint-Saens Cello Concerto (Noah Clarke) and works by Debussy & Ravel at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Newmarket at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $30/$20 student.

Artist talks + reception for Ground // Glow: Canadian Abstraction: Micak Contemporary Art Gallery, 2 Orchard Heights Blvd. unit #40, Aurora, hosts a free reception and artists panel for the Ground // Glow: Canadian Abstract Art exhibit from 2 to 4 p.m.

Burning Red Writers Round, Sunday, March 23: Bianca Rollo Music hosts an all-female showcase Burning Red Writers Round, including ​Emily Ruth Music, Allyson Whitmell and Sydney Mae Music, at Old Flame, Music Hall, at 140 Main St. South, Newmarket. Doors open at 6 p.m., show starts at 6:30 p.m.

Tapestry Chamber Choir presents Gloria et Requiem: The performance features Vivaldi’s Gloria and Rutter’s Requiem, as well Bach’s Concerto in D
Minor for keyboard and orchestra at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Newmarket at 4:30 p.m. Tickets $25 or $30 cash at door.

Cinema Sunday, March 30: Aurora Public Library, 15145 Yonge St., hosts a free movie, Conclave, from 2 to 4 p.m., with popcorn served, and a short discussion to follow. Drop-ins welcome. 

Newmarket Home and Lifestyle Show, April 5 and 6: Central York Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Newmarket Home and Lifestyle Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ray Twinney Recreation Complex, 100 Eagle St. with 130+ vendors and service providers, including renovators, landscapers, financial service businesses and more, a kids zone and food stations. Parking is free.

York Symphony Orchestra presents The Planets, Saturday, April 5: Performance features Strauss, Haydn, Rutter, Holst with Chorus York at Trinity Anglican Church, Aurora at 8 p.m.

Newmarket Juried Art Show, April 15 to 26: The annual juried art show at the Old Town Hall with free reception and awards ceremony on April 16 from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Aurora's Easterpalooza, Saturday, April 19: Aurora’s Easterpalooza presented by Aurora Home Hardware offer Easter-themed events for the entire family, including carrot limbo, egg croquet, crafts, face painting, egg fishing, hopstacle course, story walk and more, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Aurora Seniors’ Centre, 90 John West Way. Barks & Banter: Stand Up for the Ontario SPCA, Saturday, April 26: Bark your calendars and get ready to howl with laughter at Market Brewery in Newmarket. This event promises to be a purr-fect night of comedy, great drinks, and paws-itively fantastic company. Angel Heung Piano Recital, Sunday, April 27: Winner of international competitions 10-year-old Angel Heung performs her first fundraising solo recital in Trinity United Newmarket at 3 p.m. featuring works by Bach, Haydn, Chopin, Mendelssohn & Debussy. Tickets $25, children under 12 free. Proceeds to Trinity United.
