Thursday, July 7

TD Music Series: Newmarket's free summer concert series kicks off with Hotel California (the original Eagles tribute), with The Beresfords opening, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Riverwalk Commons, 200 Doug Duncan Dr.

Friday, July 8

CMHA MOBYSS bus event: Vince's Market in East Gwillimbury is hosting the MOBYSS mobile mental health clinic for youth from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 19103A Leslie St. The Canadian Mental Health Association - York Region and South Simcoe's mobile clinic provides free, confidential services to youth ages 12 to 25 who need a safe space to talk about mental health or medical health needs. Vince's is providing a free barbecue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will welcome donations in support of CMHA.

Saturday, July 9

Sidewalkable Saturday: Main Street Schomberg hosts the 3rd annual event with shopping, music, workshops, sales and more from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Purple Turtle Art Festival: The two-day fine art festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. features artists from Ontario, including York Region artists, in the meadow at The Briars Resort at 991 Lake Dr., Jackson’s Point (Entrance through the old Red Barn Theatre.) Patrons will find a relaxed atmosphere filled with paintings, sculptures, photography, pottery, jewelry, woodcraft and more.

Lavender Festival: The Giving Place farm opens to the public for this two-day festival offering a weekend of fragrance, taste and entertainment from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 9 and 10. at 19618 E Townline, Mount Albert. There will be a variety of activities and vendors, including yoga, meditation, tarot card reading, henna, drumming in the field, professional photography sessions and more! $10 per person/day. Preregister online.

Yoga at the Manor - Chair Yoga: The first session of the Yoga at the Manor series is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hillary House, 15372 Yonge St., Aurora. Tickets are $10 per person, suitable for ages 13 and up. Registration required by July 8.

Urban Family Fish Out: Families are invited to catch and release fish at Fairy Lake at this Ontario Family Fishing Week event hosted by the Optimist Club of Newmarket, York Regional Police, Ministry of Natural Resources and Aurora Bass Masters. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with equipment set up at the Fairy Lake parking lot.

Music Festival - The Intro, Saturday, July 16: Main Street Music Hall (Old Flame Brewery, 140 Main St. S., Newmarket) hosts a celebration of rap music with various artists, including TurnXr, $OURCE, Bru Castellano, Tris X, Rose Denim and AxR. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30. All ages welcome, ID must be presented to bartender and a wristband will be given to those 19+. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

Brew HAHA Comedy Night, Thursday, July 28: Martha Chaves headlines the event by RyGuy Comedy at

Newmarket's TD Music Series offers free concerts every Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the bandshell at 200 Doug Duncan Dr. at Riverwalk Commons.

Richmond Hill's Concerts in the Park offer free entertainment Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. at at Mill Pond Park.

Richmond Hill Ribfest July 22 to 24: Ribfest features professional rib teams from across North America cooking and competing for various best titles. In addition to food, enjoy live entertainment and one of the region’s largest midways at Richmond Green Park.

Richmond Hill Live! In the Plaza – Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 7 to 9 p.m.
Join the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts this month for a revamped summer music series featuring local artists performing in the theatre’s outdoor plaza on Yonge Street. Tuesday nights feature artists from a range of musical genres and Wednesdays are Open Mic nights.

Sharon Temple car show, Aug. 7: Highway 11 Cruisers Car Club and the Sharon Temple Museum Society host a classic car, truck and bike show at the Sharon Temple, 18974 Leslie St.,  from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event brings hundred of vehicles ranging in make, model, and year. Featuring a barbecue, prizes and awards. Cost $5 to $12, proceeds go to charity.
