  • Newmarket - Georgina - Northern York Region

Current details:
Winter weather travel advisory in effect.

What:
Local snow amounts of 5 to 10 cm possible.
Poor visibility at times in snow and local blowing snow, particularly over exposed areas.

When:
Continuing into tonight.

Additional information:
Lake effect snow squalls off Lake Huron will continue to produce snow over the area into tonight. Strong west winds of 40 gusting to 60 km/h are expected to produce blowing snow, significantly reducing visibility.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. If you must drive, be prepared for areas of poor visibility.
