A section of Bayview Avenue between Mulock Drive and Gorham Street in Newmarket will undergo road resurfacing work this summer.
The project will involve removing the existing asphalt on the road and laying down new asphalt.
Additional improvements include upgrading pedestrian features like push buttons, curb depressions and textured walkways at intersections there.
Construction is set to begin in early June and last until fall of 2021.

Bayview Avenue will remain open to traffic during this project, but the region warns that lane closures may be required.
These reductions could be in place from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. on weekdays and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends, according to the public construction notice.
Bayview Avenue currently reduces lanes going north from Mulock, before becoming Prospect Street.
This stretch of the road is home to a number of residences, Pickering College, and connects to historic downtown Newmarket at Water Street.
The region said access to residences and businesses will be maintained throughout the construction period.
This is one of two road work projects announced in the Town of Newmarket recently.
York Region recently announced intersection improvements will be taking place on Leslie Street at Leslie Valley Drive. That project is also expected to finish this fall.
