Public Health Ontario reported 1,476 new COVID cases today for Dec. 11.
The latest updates noted 674 recoveries and eight deaths.
York Region Public Health does not provide weekend updates.
The Dec. 12 updates provided by the province's public health agency and the ministry of health also reported the following data:
- There are 10,803 active cases, up from 10,009 yesterday.
- Of the new cases, 576 are unvaccinated, 36 are partially vaccinated and 771 are fully vaccinated. The vaccination status of 93 people is unknown.
- 222 people are in hospital testing positive for COVID-19, down from 323 yesterday.
- More than 10 per cent of hospitals did not submit data to the daily bed census. Public Health Ontario anticipates "that the number of hospitalized patients may increase when reporting compliance increases."
- 158 people are in ICU due to COVID-19, down five from yesterday. Of those, 138 people are testing positive and 20 are testing negative. There are 96 people in ICU due to COVID on a ventilator, up two from yesterday.
- Vaccination status for hospital and ICU admissions is not updated on Sunday's due to incomplete reporting on weekends.
- 11.3 million people in Ontario (81 per cent of the population) are fully vaccinated, 651,129 people (five per cent of the population) are partially vaccinated.
- 1,074,634 people have received a booster since August 2021.
- The province reported 38,477 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 5.4 per cent positivity rate.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 632,147 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 611,266 recoveries and 10,078 deaths.
