Newmarket Public Library cardholders and their families will have the ability to visit the Royal Ontario Museum for free.
The library announced that it would be adding three passes to the museum to its catalogue starting Jan. 1. Library members will be able to borrow the pass and get free general admission to the museum for up to four people per visit.
“It’s a great way to explore all ROM has to offer,” the Newmarket Public Library said on social media.
General admission prices for adults to the museum are generally $20 or higher, depending on the day and how far you book in advance.
Other libraries have offered similar programs. The Toronto Public Library has a pass covering several Toronto museums and attractions, including the ROM. The Richmond Hill and Vaughan libraries also have experience pass programs covering the ROM, while the Markham library has one for Ontario Parks.
The pass must be presented at the museum along with your library card and a valid ID. It is valid for general admission and special exhibitions subject to capacity, excluding entry to separately ticked events. Each pass is valid for one week.
You’ll be able to book the passes through the Newmarket Public Library website.
