The Newmarket Optimist Club will be riding to help support young cancer patients at its 11th annual Poker Ride for Kids Cancer this Saturday, July 27.
The annual ride is to support the pediatric oncology clinic at Southlake Regional Health Centre, in partnership with Southlake Foundation. Riders will take off from the Newmarket’s Optimist Hall to raise money for the clinic, alongside the Kawartha Charity Riders.
"It's a great event for a great cause," the Optimist Club said on its social media.
To date, the event has raised $52,000 over its 11-year history.
Registration for the ride begins at 8:30 a.m., with kickstands going up at 10 a.m. The charge is $25 for rider and $15 per passenger. There will also be a silent auction, a door prize and a lunch when riders return by noon.
