Newmarket Holiday Market Trail offers festive cheer, local shopping

You can enjoy a day of festive cheer, local shopping and holiday magic by following Newmarket’s first Holiday Market Trail on Saturday, Nov. 16.

The Central York Chamber (CYC) is hosting a pop-up market at Old Town Hall, Market Brewing Co. is holding an outdoor market with vendors and live music, and ADM Design is hosting a holiday event in its showroom.

“The Santa Claus parade happens on Saturday, Nov. 16,” says Chris Emanuel, president and CEO of the Central York Chamber in a news release. “Beginning at noon, people can walk over to Old Town Hall from Main Street and get their shopping done at the CYC’s first-ever holiday pop-up.”

Each stop on the Holiday Market Trail offers a unique experience and a chance to support local businesses in a festive setting, said Emanuel.

“This day-long event is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, shop local, and embrace the holiday spirit in Newmarket. We’re excited to see everyone come out, enjoy the markets, and help support our local food pantry in the process.”

Each location has its own vibe and hours:

  1. CYC Pop-Up Market, Old Town Hall, 460 Botsford St.: From noon to 4 p.m., Old Town Hall will transform into a holiday shopping haven featuring 48 local vendors, offering everything from gifts to holiday decor. From 1 to 3 p.m., attendees can capture the magic with a free photo op with Santa Claus himself. Visitors are encouraged to bring donations for Newmarket Food Pantry, making this event a chance to give back while enjoying holiday festivities.
  2. Market Brewing Co., 17775 Leslie St.: From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Market Brewing Co. will host a festive outdoor market experience with 20-plus additional vendors, live music, a food truck, and a range of refreshing beverages. A $5 donation or non-perishable food item is requested to support the food pantry.
  3. ADM Design, 505 Queen St.: Complete your holiday journey with a stop at ADM Design’s showroom from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for holiday inspiration, great gifts and unique decor pieces, as well as 15 per cent off everything in store and complimentary hot chocolate.
