Get your baskets ready, the Newmarket Farmers Market is opening this Saturday for the 2022 season.
The farmers market will be set up at Riverwalk Commons from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 7. To celebrate the start of the market there will be live music starting at 9:30 a.m., courtesy of Paul Magee, and a free sunflower seed give-away for the first 250 visitors to the market booth.
There are a number of vendors who will be at the market this season. Newmarket's Group of Artists, Old Flame Brewing Co., Square Spoon, and more.
New vendors this year include Homemade by Melissa, which sells nut-free, small batch granola from Canadian ingredients. Naomi Dough's is another new vendor this year, selling artisan sourdough and other pastries from local ingredients.

The Newmarket Farmers Market has been running since 1999 and boasts an average of 1,000 shoppers every day it's open.
The season runs from May until October. The farmers market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
