Newmarket artist honoured at show after 7 decades of painting

Toronto Watercolour Society's 38th annual spring juried art show continues April 4 to 6

After seven decades of painting, Newmarket artist Mary Comarty continues to be inspired by the world around her to pick up a paint brush. 

The 91-year-old was honoured at the Toronto Watercolour Society's 38th annual spring juried art show at the Old Town Hall in Newmarket on Saturday.

Also honoured was 90-year-old former Aurora resident Pauline Holancin, who now paints from her long-term care facility in Bradford.

The show, which is free for the public to attend, continues at the Old Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 4 to 6.
