Pages With Purpose (PWP) is an independently owned magazine that celebrates entrepreneurs.
The publication’s founder, Mandi Bray, started publishing digital issues of the magazine in March of this year. As September was the first time she offered printed copies, she welcomed friends and members of the community to a launch party Oct. 21 in a soiree that transformed the Innisfil Lions Club Hall into a chic space accented by black and white and soft candlelight.
When asked how it all began, Bray — who has been a photographer for three years — told InnisfilToday that while it was exciting to see a photo of herself in a magazine, meeting children’s author Tricia Khan was the impetus for the creation of PWP.
“She looked at me and said, ‘Girl, you need to do a magazine like (the) one you were issued in. Give that good vibe and excitement to people around you.’ And I did — PWP was created," Bray said.
She seeks to highlight entrepreneurs who strive to make a difference and want to share their purpose and advice with readers.
September's issue featured dancers, many of whom attended the launch party.
“It was an honour to be featured in the September issue of the PWP magazine,” said Natasha Philpott.
“I have always loved dance and to be able to have the opportunity to share my passion for it in this issue was a dream. Dance is part of who I am and I was grateful for (Bray) and her team who were able to capture my love for the craft,” Philpott explained.
Originally from Vaughan, Bray explained that being part of a small community helps her make a difference through the events she hosts.
“I’m all about networking and meeting new people,” she explained.
Bray told InnisfilToday that she would love to welcome contributors to help PWP grow, in addition to highlighting models and photographers who submit their work for the world to see.
