New King City animal hospital aims to 'revolutionize' care

The owners of a new "cutting-edge" animal hospital in King City say it will "revolutionize animal care by bringing together specialists and advanced technologies under one roof."

The 60,000-square-foot, four-storey King Animal Hospital is a privately owned multidisciplinary referral and emergency facility for animal care located on 50 acres.

The facility has seven operating rooms, 12 exam rooms, a state-of-the-art laboratory and pharmacy, and specialized areas, including a separate cat ward and a medical device reprocessing department sterilization room.

Founded by Danielle and Rob Scheinberg, the animal hospital offers a comprehensive range of services for both small animals and equine patients.

“We are deeply passionate about animal well-being and our vision is to revolutionize animal care and be a catalyst for knowledge exchange,” co-founder Danielle Eden-Scheinberg said in a news release. “Ensuring that every animal has access to the most compassionate and committed care possible is a priority for us and we are proud that King Animal will be at the cutting edge of our work.”

The hospital also has: an indoor arena for equine assessments; outdoor paddocks for horses and green spaces for dogs; a heated outdoor ramp for horses and trailers; an auditorium for knowledge exchange and continuing education; water therapy facilities for both horses and dogs; a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, the only one in Ontario for veterinary care; and advanced diagnostic imaging equipment, including two MRI machines, one recumbent CT scan for small animals, one standing CT scan (with robotic arms) for large animals, nuclear scintigraphy, C-arm fluoroscopy and digital X-rays

“We’ve created a space where diverse experts can work together efficiently and effectively to find solutions quickly,” said Rob Scheinberg. “Our goal is to provide a calm environment for both patients and their owners, accommodating all creatures great and small.”

“Congratulations to everyone at King Animal Hospital on the opening of this state-of-the art facility,” said Premier Doug Ford in the news release. “Veterinary medicine is so important to keeping pets and other animals healthy and safe, as well as supporting public health more broadly, which is why our government is proud to be investing in veterinary training to improve access to animal care across Ontario.”

King Animal Hospital is at 1265 19th Sideroad.
