UPDATE, Oct. 27: The Town of East Gwillimbury has certified the results below as official.
Turnout for the 2022 municipal election was 25.3 per cent with a total of 6,408 eligible voters casting ballots, the town reports.

East Gwillimbury Virginia Hackson has retained her seat in a battle against former councillor and mayor Jamie Young.
According to the unofficial results tonight, Oct. 24, new faces at the council table include Brian Johns as Ward 2 councillor, and Susan Lahey as Ward 3 councillor, with longtime Ward 3 councillor Cathy Morton losing her seat.
