A Toronto man wanted for failing to comply with court conditions has been arrested by police after he drove into a ditch in an attempt to flee on Saturday morning, according to York Regional Police. 

The man was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit on May 11 at about 7:30 a.m. near Mary and Srigley streets, according to a news release. The suspect exited a residence, entered into a vehicle, and upon seeing police attempted to flee before driving into a ditch a short distance away. 

A loaded handgun, suspected cocaine and cash was seized, police said.

Mohammad Moradi, 26, of Toronto is charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possess a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Dangerous operation
  • Flight from police
  • Fail to comply with release order x4
  • Possession for the purpose cocaine
