Newmarket parks will be filled with movie magic this August as the town brings back its Moonlight Movies program starting Aug. 9.
Seven films will be playing across seven parks throughout August, with residents invited to watch the free family movies on the big screen.
“Enjoy an evening watching a movie under the stars at a park near you,” the town said on social media.
The annual program has run for several years throughout Newmarket parks. The events are free, with ward councillors also hosting meet and greets in the hour leading up to the film showing.
Here is the lineup of films:
- Aug. 9, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, 8:45 p.m. at George Richardson Park
- Aug. 15, Mummies - Discover a New World, 8:30 p.m., Environmental Park
- Aug. 16, Paddington 2, 8:30 p.m., Marilyn Powell Park
- Aug. 22, Puss in Boots - The Last Wish, 8:30 p.m., Dennis Park
- Aug; 23, Lightyear, 8:30 p.m., College Manor Park
- Aug. 29, Lye, Lyle, Crocodile, 8:15 p.m., Dr. Margaret Arkinstall Park
- Aug. 30, Raya - The Last Dragon, 8:15pP.m., Ken Sturgeon Park
The town advises you to bring your own lawn chair or blankets, as well as snacks and drinks, flashlights and bug spray.
Accessible washrooms and hand-washing stations will be available on-site for public use.
