Former Newmarket councillor Henry Vanden Bergh passed away May 31 in his 83rd year.

Flags are flying at half-mast at all Town of Newmarket facilities to honour former member of Newmarket Council Henry Vanden Bergh (1936 to 2019).
 
Mr. Vanden Bergh served as a member of Newmarket Council from 1970 to 1985 and a councillor for the Regional Municipality of York from 1982 to 1985.
 
Mr. Vanden Bergh was a Newmarket native and spent his life devoted to this family and the community he lived in. His involvement in public service was fostered by recognition that a town reflects those who seek to make it great.
 
The Town of Newmarket offers sincere condolences and sympathies to his family, friends and colleagues.
