Nothing says summer quite like well chilled craft beer and barbecue and, beginning today, you can indulge both of those taste sensations at the Newmarket Rib & Craft Beer Festival at Upper Canada Mall.

For the first time, Upper Canada will play host to the beer and rib fest, which is part of the Northern Heat Rib Series that rolls out in more than 20 communities in Ontario over spring and summer.

Newmarket’s fest kicks off today, Friday, May 24, at 4 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m. It continues Saturday, May 25 from noon until 11 p.m., and Sunday, May 26 from noon until 7 p.m.

All the family-friendly action takes place at the mall parking lot, adjacent to Davis Drive, closest to Entrance 2.

Ten live bands will get you moving over the weekend, along with 26 vendors, including the mouth-watering Kentucky Smokehouse, Louisiana BBQ, New York BBQ, Oak and Barrel, Mustang Sallys, along with dessert stations, funnel cakes, poutine, blooming onions and more.

The craft beer and summer cocktail market is lined up to pour about 15 craft beers and several summer cocktails, including Flying Monkeys, Naughty Otter, Cottage Springs, Amsterdam Brewery, Cowbell, Cabana Coast and more.

Carnival games for the young and young at heart will keep you busy between noshing.

If you have little ones who won’t stay still in lines for admission or food, you can purchase a $7.99 Fast Pass here and breeze on through.
