There are more than 50 ways to indulge in your love of authentic, fresh Italian food at the newly opened Italian Market All You Can Eatery.
The buffet always offers more than 50 items at any given time, including authentic wood-fired pizza. The casual family-friendly restaurant also has gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan food options.
Even before you enter the front door, the atmosphere is Italian, with the authentic music of Italy welcoming you through the speakers. The checkered tablecloths, beautiful artwork and music create an intimate trattoria atmosphere that make it a great place to kick back with family and friends. There is a long chalkboard wall in the hallway and children are encouraged and welcome to draw on it while they visit.
Adam Iannacchino is the owner of this newest of Newmarket’s dining establishments at the southwest corner of Yonge Street and Davis Drive.
He said he is no stranger to restaurant ownership after working in the industry for 20 years. An opportunity arose after he finished school and, inspired by his father's strong work ethic, he jumped right in. Iannacchino has previously owned restaurants in Newmarket and King Township.
And for his newest venture, he said, “There were not a lot of options in the area for Italian buffet, and we wanted to bring it to Newmarket — fresh new Italian fare.”
His love of Italian food — and desire to share it with others — was influenced by his childhood, growing up in a Canadian-Italian household where home-made cooking was the daily fare. Now, he works closely with his chef to choose the recipes, inspired by traditional food from across all regions of Italian, as well as a mixture of Asian, American, and Canadian cuisine. He said he has used the variety of influences to create something different and unique for his patrons.
As well as pasta, meat and seafood dishes, daily soup specials are offered, and children-friendly foods such as chicken fingers.
Staff were involved throughout the construction and decorating process, making it a space of which they are proud, Iannacchino said.
Lunch buffet prices are $16.99 Monday to Friday and $19.99 weekends. Dinner Monday to Thursday is $24.99 and Friday to Sunday $26.99. Children aged three to 12 are half price, and seniors receive a 15-per-cent discount.
“Everyone is invited, we have a family atmosphere with a great selection,” Iannacchino said.
The Italian Market also wants to give back to make a difference in the lives of children. It has a Lovelocks Wall, for which patrons can purchase a lock and have their name displayed on the wall. Proceeds from the locks are donated to Toronto Sick Kids Hospital.
The restaurant has partnered with local breweries and is working on establishing partnerships to obtain local products.
