The City of Richmond Hill wants residents' input on the future of Richmond Green, one of the its destination parks, as work continues to revitalize the largest sporting and events park.
The city is hosting a virtual public open house Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. Register at RichmondHill.ca/ParksProjects.
The Richmond Green revitalization master plan will focus on maintaining the park as the city’s largest outdoor sporting and events venue, featuring sustainable horticulture and continuing to be a park that generates pride and promotes a sense of belonging for residents, according to a city news release.
Have your say about proposed options, including:
- The preferred location for permanent pickleball courts
- Expanded walking trails to connect the buildings with the park and surrounding neighbourhood
- Preferred traffic calming measures and signage for park roadways
- Designated youth sports area with a centrally located skate park, basketball courts and potential new volleyball courts
- New drop-off area for soccer players
- New concession, washrooms, picnic pavilion and storage in new or renovated Agricultural Building to support large events
- New gazebo and ecological gardens around the stormwater pond
- Improved waterplay area
- How the park revitalization options should be phased and more.
