The Community Craft Beer festival is back for its fourth year with even more events to enjoy this year.
The festival is coming to Newmarket's Fairy Lake Park on June 23 and 24.
It began as the Newmarket Craft Beer Festival in 2018 and was a huge success.
"It was a huge success, and we had an amazing response from the community and really realized this is a great fit for so many reasons," said organizer Michelle Planche.
You can check out a number of local craft breweries and try their beers, which is one element that appeals to people, Planche said. However, there is a lot for people to enjoy, even if they aren't beer drinkers.
There will be wine, cider, ready to drink spirits, different food trucks, family friendly spaces, interactive games, live entertainment and even fitness programming.
"What's better than a Zumba class and finish with a cold beer?" Planche said.
Food donations will be collected at the door for the Newmarket Food Pantry and the Salvation Army will also be on hand to collect donations, as well as more community organizations.
After the first two years in Newmarket, the pandemic hit and the festival transitioned into creating craft beer boxes containing different types of beer and snacks from Ontario producers.
Then the festival returned last year, but was held in Aurora. That's when the name was changed to Community Craft Beer Festival to better reflect the expansion. Planche said it was a really natural growth.
Now, she said, it is a busy year for them.
Earlier this year they did a pop-up mini festival at the Newmarket Home Show. Then on June 4, they will be set up at the south end of the Aurora Street Festival with a pop-up beer garden from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The two-day Newmarket Community Craft Beer Festival will be on June 23 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. and June 24 from noon to 10 p.m.
Later in the fall, they will be at the Prince Edward County Craft Beer Festival, which was also introduced last year.
Tickets for these different festivals can be purchased online or you can purchase tickets at the door.
