Multiple Central York Fire Services crews responded to a house fire on Prospect Street this afternoon in Newmarket.
Traffic was backed up in the surrounding downtown area with multiple fire and emergency response vehicles on the scene at the intersection of Prospect and Water streets, across from the police station, at about 1 p.m.
No signs of damage were visible on the exterior of the two-storey house that has multiple units.
