Rigoberto Antonio Mora Gutierrez of Newmarket says he'll invest his $100,000 Lotto Max Encore win.
The 62-year-old said he plays the lottery every week but never expected to win.
“I thought, if it happens, great. If not – it’s just for fun,” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “When I checked my ticket at the gas station, I knew it was a big win, but it caught me by surprise.”
Hi matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in the exact order in the Nov. 18, 2022, Lotto Max draw to win his prize.
Gutierrez said it feels like he’s one in a million to experience this win, adding, “I’m going to find something to invest in."
Encore offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1. There is an Encore draw every day.
The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on Steeles Avenue in Etobicoke.
