The Town of Aurora is hosting an open house to give residents a birds-eye view of a new path along Yonge Street.

The town is hosting an open house on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Aurora Town Hall, allowing residents to give feedback on its plans for a multi-use path along Yonge.

The path would run on Yonge from Bloomington Road north to the GO train bridge, near the intersection of Yonge and Industrial Parkway South.

It will be designed to allow for a variety of recreational uses including cycling, walking and wheelchair access.

“The goal for the Yonge Street MUP is to allow the community to connect to key destinations in town such as the Aurora GO Station, existing trails, schools and local businesses,” according to a statement from the town on its Engage Aurora site.

Currently, there are no active transportation facilities along that stretch of Yonge, with the multi-use path set to "increase safety for all road users," added the town.

The open house is being held on Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Aurora Town Hall. More details can be found online.
