Re: Letter to the editor, Why has Ontario's premier canned deposit-returns?, Sept. 24, 2024.

The pop retailers have already signed an agreement to take over product recycling in 2026. A Toronto solid waste supervisor confirmed this to me.

Pop cans can be recycled through scrap yards. Currently Triple M is paying 90 cents/lb in Toronto. But this entails individual initiative; not relying on the government.

Unemployment is up across Canada, so why blame Premier Doug Ford, when economists point to federal policies as contributing factors?

The Beer Store also is one of the best at recycling glass; use their system to divert what generally goes to the landfill.
