The Newmarket Lions Club show their support and appreciation of frontline workers at the long-term care centre with the delivery of a 'care package'

The Newmarket Lions Club made a special delivery to show their support of the frontline health-care workers at Newmarket Health Centre during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A "care package" of bottled water and treats were provided for all the staff at the long-term care centre at 194 Eagle St.

The club members wanted to provide a demonstration of support and appreciation to the staff, Lions spokesperson Rick Metcalfe said.

"It's our way of acknowledging their dedication to the many patients in the long-term care facility," he said.

The local service club made a similar donation last month in appreciation of the hard-working health-care workers at Southlake Regional Health Centre.

“The club recognizes the stress these workers are under due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Metcalfe said.
