This year marks a significant milestone for the Aurora community as it gears up to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the well-known Aurora Art Show and Sale. In partnership with the Society of York Region Artists (SOYRA), the Town is set to host a weekend-long event on Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Aurora Town Hall, located at 100 John West Way. The show promises to be a vibrant celebration of local talent and creativity with more than 360 pieces of art on display.

“Art shows are not just exhibitions; they help connect a community through cultural dialogue and artistic skill. Each piece tells an intricate story and weaves together the fabric of our shared experiences that enrich our social identity and humanity,” said Shelley Ware, Recreation-Special Events Supervisor.

The event also provides a platform where local artists emerge into the spotlight and can share their unique visions and creations with the public. With free admission, the show offers a rare opportunity for art enthusiasts and collectors to engage with the artists and purchase pieces directly from the creators themselves.

This annual show plays a pivotal role in sustaining and nurturing the local artistic community and showcasing their beautiful creations in a public forum.
