Aurora Launches New Community Garden at John Abel Park

20250204-john-abel-park

The Town of Aurora has introduced a new community garden at John Abel Park, giving residents and community groups the chance to grow their own food while supporting efforts to combat food insecurity. The garden will feature planter box-style plots available for a fee for annual use, operating seasonally from May 1 to November 1.

This initiative is designed to foster community engagement, allowing individuals and groups to come together, share knowledge, and grow food in a collaborative space.

Applications for plots are open until Friday, March 7, 2025 with a random lottery determining plot assignments. Selected applicants will be responsible for maintaining their plots and paying a nonrefundable fee for garden access.
