Victim robbed after meeting to arrange sexual encounter goes awry, police say

Police are releasing photos of the suspects as investigators believe there may be additional victims across Canada

A victim was forced to allow suspect to withdraw his money from several ATMs after a meeting to arrange a sexual encounter went awry in Vaughan on Jan. 19, York Regional Police said.

The victim met with a man and woman to arrange a sexual encounter and entered their vehicle to negotiate the transaction in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive West and Jane Street Sunday, Jan. 19 at approximately 9:30 a.m., a news release said. 

A woman threatened him at knife-point and forced him to provide his banking information. A man drove to several ATMs where money was withdrawn before the victim was eventually released, police said.

York Regional Police are releasing photographs of two suspects as investigators believe there may be additional victims across Canada and are encouraging them to come forward.

Jessica Kane, 32, of Vancouver, B.C. is charged with armed robbery, forcible confinement and breach of probation x3.

Mannan Khanna, 22, of Toronto is charged with armed robbery and forcible confinement.

At the time of the offence, Kane was wanted in Alberta and was on probation for unrelated charges, police said.
