Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit have charged two more people in connection with the death of a 33-year-old man who was killed in a 2018 shooting in the City of Richmond Hill.
On Monday, Dec. 24, 2018 at approximately 9:30 p.m., York Regional Police responded to Barnwood Drive in the area of Bayview Avenue and Stouffville Road after several calls came in reporting sounds of gunshots. When officers arrived, they located a 33-year-old male victim. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as Soheil Rafipour of the City of Toronto.
On Tuesday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 18, 2020, investigators with the Homicide Unit arrested and charged two men with ties to the tow truck industry.
Charged:
• Mohamad El-Zahawi, 38, City of Toronto
• Abdelaziz Ibrahim, 23, City of Hamilton
Charges:
• First-degree murder
On Tuesday, April 28, 2020, investigators arrested and charged an additional suspect. On Thursday, April 30, 2020, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the Town of Brechin, in the Township of Ramara, where a fourth person was arrested. She is now facing charges in connection with the incident.

• Thomas Sliwinski, 41, of Brantford
• Marena Leachman, 21, of Brantford
Charges:
• First-degree murder
