Rocks were thrown at this bus, which was travelling along Highway 48 in Markham on Nov. 30.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are still on the hunt for a suspect or suspects who they believe have been throwing rocks at passing vehicles in Markham for months.

One incident on Sept. 20 led to a serious collision, with two people suffering life-threatening injuries, according to Aurora OPP.

One of those injured in the crash remains in critical condition in hospital, while the other has since stabilized and is in recovery.

More recently, Aurora OPP was called on Nov. 30 shortly before 11:30 p.m., with reports of a rock being thrown at the windshield of an occupied bus on Highway 48, north of Major Mackenzie Drive in Markham.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The OPP said in a news release they believe these incidents are all linked to the same suspect or suspects, and that they are potentially using a light-coloured sport utility vehicle (SUV).

Police are asking the public's help, with anyone who has seen anything suspicious or has any information, dash cam or surveillance video asked to contact Aurora OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or email [email protected].
