Highway 9 and Highway 27 have been re-opened as of 10:30 p.m. following the early morning closure due to a fire at a nearby Schomberg fabrication plant.

The Ontario Provincial Police had closed Highway 9 from Leonard to Main Street Schomberg, and York Regional Police had closed the northbound lanes of Highway 27 at Lloydtown Aurora Road, soon after the fire at Aerospace Metal Finishing broke out at about 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9

Proctor Road, Magnum Drive and Dillane Drive, which are in the immediate area of the plant, remain closed Monday night.

The fire department's hazardous materials team was on the scene of the fire on Proctor Road this morning.

No injuries have been reported.
