The Grinch has arrived in Newmarket, with the theft of the extension cords that power the Christmas decorations downtown and along Main Street.
The Town of Newmarket is requesting, in the spirit of Christmas, that the cords be returned.
"Help keep Main Street enjoyable for all this holiday season," the town posted on social media. "If you notice suspicious activity, please contact (the York Regional Police's) non-emergency line at 1-866-876-5423,"
York Regional Police were quick to find a person of interest in the case: the Grinch.
The force posted a request that the small-hearted fiend return the cords immediately — or end up on the wrong list.
Dear Grinch: Do the right thing and return the extension cords right away. If you don't return them, you could face criminal charges, or even worse end up on Santa's naughty list. https://t.co/j9FxrnzDTG
