Police are looking for five suspects after a jewelry store was robbed Monday in Richmond Hill.
At about 4 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery in the area of Yonge Street and Carrville Road. Four suspects entered the store and demanded cash, while another suspect remained in a vehicle while the robbery took place.
One suspect assaulted an employee, while three others smashed jewelry display cases, York Regional Police said in a news release. The suspects made off with jewelry and fled in an awaiting Nissan Maxima. The vehicle has since been found and was determined to have been stolen.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
The first suspect is described as a white male, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white shoes. The other three suspects are described as Black males, wearing black clothing. All of the suspects were wearing masks and gloves. No description is available for the suspect who was waiting in the stolen car.
