York Regional Police has charged a Bradford man for impaired offences after two pedestrians were struck in Vaughan on Saturday.
The major collision investigation unit took to the scene, at Jane Street and Major Mackenzie Drive. Shortly before 2 a.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle collision there. As a result of the collision, vehicles struck two pedestrians. Both pedestrians were transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police or might have dash cam footage.
“We are not giving up. Together with our partners and our community, we continue the fight against impaired driving,” York Regional Police said on social media. “If you see a driver you suspect is impaired, call 911.”
Bradford resident Abdul Lodin, 46, faces two charges of impaired operation causing bodily harm, two charges of dangerous operation causing bodily harm and a charge of impaired operation with a blood-alcohol concentration of 80-plus.
The area was closed for traffic for a time this morning while police investigated.
