Ontairo Provincial Police have released more details about charges against a Scarborough man following an eight-vehicle, chain-reaction crash that happened Thursday in Bradford.
Shortly after 4:30 a.m., emergency crews were called to a multi-vehicle collision on southbound Highway 400, south of Highway 88. Police were told a vehicle had been involved in a crash with another vehicle and had come to rest in a live lane without its lights on, which led to a chain-reaction collision. One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus) and dangerous operation, as well as several Highway Traffic Act and Cannabis Control Act offences.
The accused was released from custody and has a Dec. 18 court date in Barrie.
