A 52-year-old Whitby man is charged with internet child luring-related offences in York Region.
A male suspect engaged in communications this month on a social media platform with a person he believed was under 16 years, for a sexual purpose, according toYork Regional Police.
A joint investigation by Peel Regional Police and York Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) section unit resulted in the arrest Thursday, Sept. 21 of Timothy Baulk, aka Paul, police said.
A suspect was communicating on platforms using the handle “Gymteacher” and “Gymteacher1,” police said.
Investigators are releasing a photograph and are urging any additional victims or anyone with information to come forward.
Baulk (aka: Paul) is charges with: luring a person under the gge of 16 by means of telecommunication; and making sexually explicit material available.
The accused has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on Oct. 19, 2023, police said.
