An arrest has been made in relation to a shooting last year in Markham.
On Oct. 5, 2023, at about 9 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a parking lot on Warden Avenue, between Apple Creek Boulevard and Highway 7, after receiving a report of the sounds of gunshots. Officers learned shots had been fired during an altercation between two large groups of people.
Everyone had left by the time officers arrived.
There were no injuries.
On Thursday, a 17-year-old boy, of no fixed address, was charged with discharging a firearm with intent. At the time of his arrest, he was out on a release order for unrelated charges.
