Cynthia Laura Wheeler, 88, of Newmarket, Ontario, passed away on July 14, 2023. Cynthia was born on August 27, 1934 to William and Violet Roodt in Woodstock, South Africa. In December 1958 Cynthia married Brian Carl Wheeler in Cape Town, South Africa. They had three children, Juanita, Bernadette and Cyril.
At age 55, Cynthia showed off her prowess in table tennis, badminton, bowling and let’s not to forget her love of golf. She had many creative talents, a competitive nature, a great sense of humour, and a smile and prayer to share with anyone she encountered.
Cynthia was a devout Christian/Catholic, visiting the sick, and a patron to numerous charities.
Cynthia Laura Wheeler, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, cousin and friend. She is survived by her sister Joan and her cousin Violet.
Services will be held at Taylor Funeral Home in Newmarket, Ontario on July 19, 2023. Visitation at 10:00 am with a service to follow in the Chapel at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Operation Smile, who provides surgeries for children to correct cleft lip or palate, would be appreciated.
