November 17th, 1940 - November 8th, 2024

We are sad to announce the passing of Lawrence “Larry” Taylor on November 8, 2024, at Margaret Bahen Hospice with his family by his side. A gentle Husband, Father, Brother, Son, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend. Larry is survived by his wife Kathy (Kullikky) Taylor of 60 years, sister Nancy Hill, children Kristine Skoupas (John), Melanie Bell (Anthony), Mark Taylor (Nancy), and 7 grandchildren Jasmin, Branden, Jade, Madison, Isaiah, Jeremiah and Cameron. He was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Elaine Taylor (nee Richards).

Larry grew up in Scarborough and lived in North York, Michigan, Oakridges and Aurora. In his early years, he was a photographer and a DJ. He met the love of his life, Kathy, in high school at R.H. King Collegiate Institute in Scarborough, and they were inseparable ever since. He worked in sales at Parker Amchem and Henkel Corporation in the automotive industry for over 30 years, and started his own handyman business after many years in the corporate world. Larry was a proud member of the Aurora Seniors Centre and the Oakridges Lions Club, where he was known as the “BBQ King.” He attended the Estonian Baptist Church, Bayview Glen Church, and The Campus Church Bathurst.

Larry cherished memories of being at the cottage on Stoney Lake, especially fishing for pickerel with his Uncle Jim as a child, Florida trips to Indian Rocks Beach, Whistler, and Kashe Lake. He loved volunteering and loved playing Monopoly and Scrabble with his grandkids and enjoying going to the theatre with Kathy. His favorite foods were BBQ sausages with mustard and cherry pie with ice cream!

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Larry’s doctors from Southlake Regional Cancer Centre, Dr. Saeed and Dr. Fenkell and his family doctor Dr. Castillo for their great and compassionate care. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Margaret Bahen Hospice for their exceptional care for Larry, including Barb, Hailey, Connie, Elena, Malika, Anka, Susan, Helen, Joanne, Christina G, Christina S, and Casey.

Larry is now with our Heavenly Father, and we find comfort knowing that he has moved to his new address, HEAVEN.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at The Campus Church Aurora, 14430 Bathurst St, Aurora, ON L4G 7A4.
