Marion Katherine Smith Hopkins Surrey born in York Township on December 28, 1942 to Gordon and Marjorie Smith, died peacefully on Friday, May 31.
Katherine was previously married to Allan Hopkins (1964-1988), with whom they had two surviving children, Michael (Jenn) Hopkins and Christine (Michael) Standen. Katherine went on to marry James York Surrey who survives his beloved. Katherine's precious grandchildren - Tezz, Emily, Ashley, Zach, Callie and Zoe - were always in her heart and never far from her thoughts. Survived also by her brothers - Bob (Tanis) Smith and Russell (Diane) Smith, and many cousins, friends and spiritual brothers and sisters.
Katherine's ability to see beauty in others and extend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, was always her glowing strength, so much so, that many called her "Mom" and she, calling them her spiritual children. Katherine will have a Baha'i burial at Queensville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the National Spiritual Assembly of Canada. Only a Baha'i can make these contributions, therefore we request that these funds are collected by her children and made in a tribute to her.
