September 30th, 1924 - March 13th, 2025
On Thursday March 13, 2025, in her 101st year, Angela entered eternal peace in heaven with family by her side, sure to be reunited with her beloved husband Jack (John). Much loved mother of Michael, Grace (George), Brendan (Cindy), Vivian, Sheila (Kerry), Neil (Tracey). Adored Grandma to Liam (Erin), Shannon (David), Elise (Andrew) Christopher (Stacey), Kaitlin (Ryan), Johnathan (Mary), Clare (Brad), Abigail (Giancarlo), Joshua, Emma, Ashleigh, Connor and 10 treasured great grandchildren.
Angela was born in Sleaty Cottage, Carlow Ireland, the youngest of eight children to John O’Neill and Jane MacDonald O’Neill. After meeting her future husband Jack in Oxford, where she trained as a Food Service Supervisor after college in Dublin, they immigrated to Canada in the mid-1950s. This move would change her life and the lives of her family, landing in a country that gave Angela opportunities that would never be available to her otherwise. She was a hard-working mother of six who lost her husband while her children were still young.
A mom, career woman, and active volunteer, Angela led with dedication, compassion, strength and resilience both for her children and everyone who knew her. Her journey on earth was marked by a love of family, faith and enduring pride demonstrated by her desire to live in her Morton Street home in Sharon until her 98th year. She provided the best hugs, a full cookie jar, a roaring fire on a cold day, endless cups of tea, and engaging conversation.
To honour Angela’s generous spirit, the family kindly asks in lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice. A mass in celebration of Angela’s life will take place at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 17955 Leslie Street, Newmarket Ontario, on Monday March 24, 2025 at 11 am. Reception to follow.
