Jiri Polak, born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He was a modest and reserved man who achieved much in his life. His family was his greatest joy. Jiri was pre-deceased by Vera, his beloved wife of almost 60 years and was the father of Blanka, John, and Peter. He was a proud and loving Deda to his grandchildren: Madi, Quinn, Nicole, Lauren, and Ben. He will also be missed by his partner in later years, Patricia Lawrence.
Jiri loved photography and won many awards for his photos over the years. His passion for capturing moments created lasting memories for all who knew him.
Jiri managed to get his family out of Czechoslovakia in 1968 and started a new life in Canada. This move ensured new opportunities for him and his loved ones. Jiri’s life was marked by quiet strength and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his spirit will live on in our hearts.
A celebration of Jiri's life will take place at Madison's Greenhouse at 160 Bayview Pkwy, Newmarket Ontario on Tuesday July 16 at 6:30 p.m.
