Shirley Delores Pateris, spouse to Stan Pateris, passed away peacefully at Southlake Hospital on July 4, 2024 of natural causes at the age of 93.
Born as the eldest of four children to Joe and Florene McLellan, Shirley is survived by her brothers Ken and Doug, while her brother Joe passed away last year. She was a proud and devoted mother to three children: Joe (Lindsay), Fred (Patti), and Nancy (Greg) Davies. Shirley was also a cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren and a beloved great-grandmother to fourteen great-grandchildren.
Shirley was a pioneering spirit, always valuing independence and a strong work ethic. She enjoyed a fulfilling career with Bell Canada and enjoyed being an “Avon Lady,” forming lasting relationships with her customers and friends.
In addition to her professional achievements, Shirley was an avid athlete. She was a dedicated member of a women’s bowling team and led a women’s volleyball team for many years, demonstrating her commitment to an active and engaged lifestyle.
Arrangements for Shirley are being handled by Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home in Newmarket. There are no visitations or funeral services planned at this time. However, a celebration of her life is being considered for a future date, allowing friends and family to gather and honor her memory.
