July 21, 1961 – October 13, 2024

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Robert (Robb) Norris on Sunday October 13, 2024 at the Margaret Bahen Hospice Centre after fighting a courageous battle with cancer Robb was born in Toronto to Donald Robert (Bob) Norris and the late Shirley (nee Young) on July 21, 1961.

He grew up in Lakefield, Ontario and after graduating from Lakefield District Secondary School he pursued a degree at the University of Western Ontario where he graduated in 1984 with a B. A. (Major in History). After graduation Robb enlisted in the military and in 1986 was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. He retired from the military with the rank of Captain after nine years. In civilian life Robb followed his passion in recruiting, specializing in the IT sector, most recently as Director of Recruitment at D4M International.

Robb was an avid soccer fan, always supporting the Liverpool F. C. and in other sports; the Toronto Maple Leafs, Blue Jays and Argonauts. Robb is survived by the love of his life, his spouse of 28 years Debbie (nee Green), his two sons Caillan (Victoria) and grandchildren, Alexander and Wyatt of Bewdley, Ontario and Brennan (Amanda) and grandchildren, Chaise and Tanner of Peterborough, Ontario. He is also survived by his father Bob of Lakefield, Ontario and his mother-in-law Shirley Green of Halifax, Nova Scotia. In addition, he is survived by sisters-in-law Kerry Norris, Peterborough, Marlene Moore (Gordon), Kimberley Pask (Dean), brother-in-law David Green (Lai) all of Halifax, Nova Scotia and many nieces and nephews.  Robb was predeceased by his mother Shirley and brother Rick.

As per Robb’s wishes there will be no service or visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care of Taylor Funeral Home in Newmarket. One of Robb’s last wishes was to thank the staff of the Southlake Hospital, in particular, his personal care nurses, Michelle and Jordan for their care during his time there. Robb also wanted to recognize the staff of the Margaret Bahen Hospice in particular, Ashley and Hayley and express his thanks for their personal care.

The following is an excerpt from the reading “You Are
Near” which was read as Robb left the Hospice. “Life means all that it ever
meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity. Think of me
with your smile, picture me with the warmth of your heart. Why should I be out
of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near, and in my new terms….just around the corner. All is well.
I am near.”

Rest in Peace, Robb.
