April 2nd, 1940 - May 28th, 2024

Munro, Joseph (Joe) James, passed away with family by his side at Southlake Hospital on May 28th, in his 84th year.

Beloved father of Scott and Janna (Michael) and Grandfather of Bobby. Son of the late James and Ellen Munro and Brother of the late Anna MacConnell (George).

Joe was born in Scotland on April 2, 1940 and was with the British Army before immigrating to Canada in the early 60’s. A Tool and Die maker with International Journeyman’s papers, he started his Career with Dehavilland, worked at General Motors and ended his career with Magna International with more than 25 years tenure until the day he retired. He taught many apprentices on his Trade, which is a Testament to the man he was.

Joe was a dedicated family man, who put them ahead of everything else. Joe loved his Dogs, playing golf, being on the water and having a good time. His infectious smile and laughter, along with his boundless sense of humour, drew people to him. He was kind, generous, hardworking and a role model to his children. He will be missed immensely.

The family would like to provide a special thanks to Southlake Hospital for the care he received as Joe made the transition, as well as to Bradford Valley.
A Celebration of Life will be announced in the coming days.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Joe would also encourage all to be a Blood Donor.
